1.The difference between black polyurethane hose and transparent polyurethane tubing

1). Appearance & Visibility (Most Obvious Difference)

Transparent PU tube: High transparency, allows direct viewing of internal airflow or impurities, making it easy to troubleshoot blockages.

Black PU tube: Opaque, no internal visibility; dirt-resistant and does not show age easily, easier to maintain in industrial environments.

2). Weather Resistance & Anti-Aging (Key Performance Difference)

Transparent PU tube: Prone to yellowing, aging, and cracking outdoors, mostly used indoors or inside equipment.

Black PU tube: No obvious yellowing, suitable for outdoor use or direct sunlight exposure.

3). Material & Additives

Transparent PU tube: Usually natural (uncolored) thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).

Black PU tube: Black TPU with added black masterbatch.

4). Application Scenarios

Transparent PU tube preferred for: Indoor equipment, automated assembly lines, woodworking / pneumatic tools.

Black PU tube preferred for: Outdoor equipment, exposed piping, agricultural / construction machinery.

5). Basic Performance

Pressure resistance, abrasion resistance, and resilience are the same for both types.

2. Precautions for using transparent polyurethane tubing

1)Prolonged exposure to outdoor sunlight will cause rapid yellowing, aging, brittleness, and even cracking. It is best used indoors or inside equipment. If outdoor use is unavoidable, install a light-shielding sleeve or take other protective measures.

2)The typical operating temperature range is -20°C to 40°C. Avoid placing it near high‑heat sources (e.g., heaters, welding sparks), as the tube wall may soften, deform, or harden and crack.

3)Polyurethane has poor resistance to certain solvents (e.g., strong acids, strong alkalis, ketones, esters). Contact with such chemicals may cause swelling, hardening, or rupture. If the tubing may come into contact with chemicals, verify compatibility in advance.

4)Although PU tubing is flexible, the bending radius should not be too small (recommended ≥ 4–6 times the outer diameter). Otherwise, the internal passage may kink, restricting airflow/fluid flow, and fatigue cracking will accelerate.

5)Transparent PU tubing has pressure resistance similar to other PU tubes, but long‑term exposure to frequent pressure pulsations will accelerate aging. Select an appropriate working pressure according to the product specifications and leave a safety margin.

6)Cut ends must be square and burr‑free – use a sharp tubing cutter. When inserting into fittings, ensure full insertion to avoid air leaks or stress concentration that may lead to cracking.
