1.Precautions for Using 8mm  x 5mm Polyurethane Pneumatic Air Tubing

1)Proper Cutting – Ensure a Perpendicular End Face:

Always use a dedicated tubing cutter to cut the tube squarely, ensuring a clean, smooth, and burr-free end face. Do not use pliers or scissors, as they will deform the tube end, cause ovality, and eventually lead to air leakage or loose connections at the fitting.

2)Allow Sufficient Length – Avoid Sharp Bends:

When routing the tubing, leave enough slack, especially near push-to-connect fittings. Avoid forming sharp bends right at the fitting root. For 8 mm OD PU tubing, it is recommended that the distance between fittings be no less than 52 mm to provide an adequate straight section for strain relief.

3)Environmental and Media Control:

The operating temperature range for PU tubing is typically –20 °C to +40 °C. Prolonged use outside this range can cause the material to harden or soften, adversely affecting its service life and pressure resistance. Additionally, avoid exposure to strong acids, strong alkalis, organic solvents, steam, and other corrosive media.

2. Key Points for Fitting Installation: One Insert, Two Checks, Three Cautions

1)Thoroughly purge the tubing: Before connecting, use compressed air to blow out the inside of the tubing to remove chips, dust, and other debris. This prevents foreign matter from entering the fitting or valve, which could cause malfunction or seal failure.

2)Insert straight in until it bottoms out: Insert the tubing straight, slowly, and with firm pressure into the quick-connect fitting until you feel it hit the bottom and stop. If the tubing is not inserted all the way, the risk of air leakage and disconnection increases significantly.

3)Gently pull back to verify locking: After insertion, gently pull back on the 8mm  x 5mm  polyurethane pneumatic air tubing to confirm that it has been securely locked by the internal gripping jaws and cannot be easily pulled out. This verifies that the installation is properly seated.

4)Depressurize before disconnection: Before removing the PU tubing, you must completely exhaust all compressed air from the system (pressure must be reduced to zero). Then, press the release ring (or push button) evenly and firmly all the way down, and pull out the tubing. Do not attempt to forcibly remove the PU tubing while the system is under pressure-the high-velocity air blast can cause personal injury and easily damage the fitting.
