3/4" OD Polyurethane Tubing

3/4" OD Polyurethane tubing does not have a fixed service life, as it largely depends on the actual working environment and load conditions. Under ideal laboratory conditions, some high-performance PU tubes can achieve an expected service life of approximately 500 continuous operating hours.

Key factors affecting service life:

1.Medium being conveyed

2.Ambient temperature

Standard PU tubing typically withstands temperatures from -20°C to +40°C.

Prolonged use above 40°C accelerates aging. Some specialty PU materials offer excellent low-temperature performance, remaining flexible even below freezing without becoming brittle or cracking.

3.UV exposure

PU material is not UV-resistant. Long-term outdoor exposure accelerates aging, embrittlement, and cracking. For outdoor use, protective measures or UV-resistant tubing is recommended.

4.Dynamic / flexing applications

When used in robotic arms or other applications involving repeated bending or movement, service life is limited by the material's resistance to flex fatigue.

5.Polyester vs. polyether type

Polyether-based PU is more hydrolysis-resistant, making it more durable in humid or wet environments and less susceptible to microbial degradation. For long-term use in damp conditions, polyether PU tubing is recommended.

6.Working pressure

Operating pressure must not exceed the tubing's rated pressure (e.g., common ratings of 6–12 kg). Prolonged use at excessive pressures or frequent pressure surges will shorten service life.
