Load Calculation

Load calculation for high-performance pallet polyurethane load wheel is not a simple fixed formula; it requires considering multiple factors. One authoritative method is as follows:

T = (E + Z) / n × S

Where:

T = required load capacity per individual wheel (this is the basis for your selection)

E = dead weight of the transport equipment (e.g., cart or AGV)

Z = maximum payload weight on the equipment

n = number of wheels used (Note: When using 4 wheels, load distribution is often uneven due to uneven floors; therefore, n is typically taken as 3, assuming only 3 wheels bear the total load.)

S = safety factor – a critical variable that depends on how actual operating conditions deviate from "ideal conditions" (smooth floor, low speed, room temperature)

Safety factor (S) reference values:

Example:

An AGV with a dead weight of 200 kg and a maximum payload of 800 kg operates indoors on a floor with minor obstacles (take S = 1.8). It uses 4 wheels (n = 3).

The required load capacity per wheel is:

T = (200 + 800) / 3 × 1.8 = 600 kg

Beyond the formula, the pallet polyurethane load wheel's physical dimensions (larger diameter = higher load capacity) and the hardness of the polyurethane material (typically between 75 and 96 Shore A) also directly determine the final load rating.
